Catch and Release policy for 2013:

Due to a major decline in Sea trout and Salmon stocks across Northern Ireland, it was agreed by a majority decision at the 2012 AGM that each member MUST keep a record of all sea trout and salmon caught during the 2013 season. During the 2012/13 season members may kill up to 2 fish (
Salmon or Sea trout) providing that these are over 50cm or 40cm in length respectively. Measurement of the fish must be taken from the fork of the tail to the tip of the nose. Any fish below these sizes must be returned unharmed to the river as carefully and quickly as possible. A small form has been mailed to each member, please fill these out and return to the club secretary before the next AGM to enable the club to ascertain the population of Salmon and Sea trout in the Inver River. Brown trout are excluded from this policy as their population numbers are relatively healthy.
